Is there just one MPC X?

Hi folks,

Looking to pick up an MPC X in the next few days.

A few shops here in the Netherlands are selling it for 1500 euro.

But Thomann is doing it for 1799.

Thomann is almost never beaten on price, and never by such a wide margin, so i'm wondering if these 1500 euro sellers are trying to shift an older model?

Anyone know if there's been a recent hardware update which could explain this price difference?

B-stock ?

Thomann is one of the worst stores I know.
In short, they sell returns as new.
When I pay for a new product, I want the new product packaged by the manufacturer, not "open to checking the content" as Thomann say
It's best to call the store, say that you want to buy the MPC, but ask if it is new or used. Only then place the order.

Not always the best price.

Lol, I had that a few times, I remember going to a local 'soundcontrol' store back in early 2005 to pick up my MPC1000 and when I arrived it was open on the counter, missing power lead and a big scratch on the front of the unit, clearly the shop demo. 'Oh no sir, it's brand new, just opened it up to check the contents sir'.

I don't mind buying b-stock as long as they are honest and drop the price accordingly. Not had any problems with Thomann though, but I tend to prefer buying from the UK. Juno is always good for low prices, just ask them on the Live chat for a better deal and they tend to knock around 10% off.

there were times (i think around Xmas) that X was priced lower across shops but i think Thomann matched that price

I don’t always find Thomann the cheapest. Lot of times Musicstore and Baxshop have better deals.

Bax has a 3 week wait, so i don't think it can be a B-stock.

Bax is almost never cheaper than Thomann, because they have a bot that scans the thomann site and just copies the price!........... This is one of the rare examples i can remember when they seems to be cheaper!

I always buy my stuff without VAT from Thomann, but when its a large, expensive item i prefer Bax, and i pick it up in person (I'm in Amsterdam) as i figure there's less chance of it being kicked around by a Neanderthal delivery guy and if there's a problem it's much less hassle to get an exchange or repair.

So i guess the answer to my question is that there is just one MPC X?...... there are no older, less desirable ones floating around?
