MPC Live II Bank A Pad 1 Defaulting To C2

Hello,

New to MPC and to the forum, I couldn't for the life of me find an answer to this even within the MPC bible where I'm currently stuck due to this issue.

According to everything I've read, Pad 1 on Bank A should default to MIDI note C-2 (this part of the tutorial is on key groups so I'm assuming this would be crucial), but is currently defaulting to C2.

Being new to MPC I don't know exactly which settings to change to have this as it normally should be.

Again, I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere so sorry if this has been asked before.

I'm using a key group, below are a couple pics. But yea, key group and I'm hitting Pad 1 showing it defaults to C2 in the piano roll view, I'm in Bank A.

Do you have Transpose set on the track in the main screen?

To the right of Length and Velocity? If so it's currently set to Off.

EDIT: I think I figured it out...to the right in the keygroup program I saw "Pad Perform" and it gave me an option to change the root note to C-2.

I'm hoping that's the correct way to go about this, if there is better way I'm all ears.

Yeah damn that would've been it.

The final fix was that somehow (either came like this from factory or I accidently turned it on) Pad Perform was on when it should've been off in the first place, again, thanks either way.

You turned it on. Welcome to the forums.

Yep, turn off 'Pad Perform' is the most common response email I give people these days. Akai need to put something in the top bar to show this is currently engaged.
