If you can’t get your MPC to operate in controller mode, l managed to map them by assigning arbitrary midi commands to the knob arrays In the Q-link edit window of the MPC hardware device. The software doesn’t care what midi parameter your knob is sending for. It just wants a distinct midi number to add to each available q-link. Unfortunately the q-links offered in the software are limited. It doesn’t look like you can control plug-in parameters. If you’re in the midi learn window and hit the learn button highlight q-links in view and go down the list of q-links. Click each one and turn a knob that corresponds.
I got the software to respond and learn the Q-link knobs and the pads. I went to Preference, midi/Sync and clicked control where it corresponded to the midi input I was using. I was also wrong and you can control plugin parameters. You can customize q-link parameters by clicking the italicized i. It would be killer if I could use the data wheel. I’m bummed I can’t use controller mode but at least I can control the software enough to get by. I hope this helps someone in the same situation. I still can’t load previous song files into the plugin in logic. The software by itself loads my songs written in standalone mode. If anyone comes across this and knows why my standalone files aren’t acknowledged by the software, as a plugin, please let me know.
