Midi Sync

Does any one know why I cannot use MTC to make my MPC X slave when synced to my DAW?

It only works with MidiClk and I am having weird timing start issues and wanted to try some other options such as MTC.

I'm using Reaper as a Master and the MPC starts when I press play from the DAW but it does some weird speed up / catch up tempo increase during first few milliseconds.

It may be a sync offset issues or latency perhaps. I am new to syncing this way so any ideas or suggestions are welcomed.

It's pretty standard practice... midi is old tech... and needs about a bar for everything to sync up and settle down.

I feel like has to be a MidiClock thing. I had another device hooked up using MTC and it was on time. Its not a big pain so it's workable and still faster than exporting stems into DAW most times.

Dont have any trouble with this here but I have Logic set to do a 4 beat count in before it starts, so maybe that lets everything start on time?

I dont think Ive gotten the MPC to respond to MTC so I just use MIDI Clock for it with Logic Pro as the master. Works great over the Network MIDI app.

Any particular reason you don't use the software instead with Reaper ?
