ANYONE PLEASE HELP

I cant install the 2.9 update on my MPC X, Before when I opened the installer it would say update MPC and as long as my mpc was in update mode and connected I was good. Now when I open the installer it has me choose my MPC then has me update the software and mpc x driver but my actual MPC X still isnt updated. How do I get the update on My MPC X. Its not as easy as before

Try downloading the USB updater, and put the file on your USB Drive, follow the instructions to initiate the upgrade from system settings in standalone mode.

Try updating the firmware FIRST. The my X didn't take the update at first either. I went back and updated the firmware first then I updated the software. Are you on a MAC or PC ?

The firmware is a separate update. It sounds like you're running the MPC Software update, wrong file.

Lamp dog I’ve seen a couple of times you mentioning “to reset hardware” after updating firmware. How? What? Why?

How: Home -> Settings -> Info -> (Bottom Right) Reset Preferences

Why: Sometimes preference options change, get hidden, whatever... and the new OS doesn't quite know how to handle it or does something weird. A reset makes sure that all the values that should be set by default are set, and that when you make changes to your preferences they are displayed properly.

I haven't really had a problem with it myself, but it is a good habit if you're worried that something seems off, and is a quick way to see if it helps fix something.
