Convert to sequence, audio tracks issue

Fellow mpc heads,

Does anybody know a nice workaround for the following issue?

In my workflow I have created a song in separate sequences using both audio and midi tracks. As I dont way my audio tracks to play over all sequences I have deleted the audio track waves in the sequences I dont want them to play as a workaround for not being able to mute the audio tracks per sequence as you can with midi tracks. Works like a charm, but now I have run into the following issue:

I would like to record one more audio track over the whole song to finish up the track. So I went into song mode, put in all my sequences and pressed convert to sequence. Now the issue is that my audio tracks are playing again over all the parts of the song again, which wont work for my purpose. Is there a way to convert to sequence that “remembers” in which sequence I have deleted the audio tracks so my converted sequence will be identical to my separate sequences?

I could track out my sequences without a problem to an external recorder and then record another track on top of the full song without an issue. It would be neat though if I could do all this within the mpc itself.

Any suggestions?

I am using an X and a Live with the latest firmware for your information?

I have not played with audio tracks in this way enough to give ‘proper’ answer... but what you are describing makes me think one option might be to put the audio track sample into a program and trigger it with a note on perhaps to move it to a midi track control... then it would play or not play as you desire from the note.

I can guess at the behavior happening here, and definitely played around with it... I just cannot remember what I dis to fix it off hand.

Thanks for the workaround. Thought about this as well and tested it in another project. Works well and thats how ill do my next project. Was hoping for this project to find another workaround though as it contains many sequences and am not looking forward to do all the work to get it all right.
But well, a good cup of coffee, good music in the background, lets fix this

If I get some time I'll try and get a project together again to see if I can figure it out... I apparently never wrote down my steps... or I am just loosing my mind

Thank you for the suggestions. These are good workarounds I thought of as well and they work for sure.
Would still be neat though if in a future update it would be possible to more easily arrange audio tracks along sequences. I like audio tracks, but its kind of not so flexible that you cant arrange those tracks easily by muting them per sequence. It would save the work of automating volumes or transferring them drum programs.
