MPC3k and MicroKorg Question..

Aight, so I'm working on a beat right now and I've got my 3k midi'd up to the micro korg playing some bass keys. The problem I'm having is...I'm ready to lay down some drums and other ish, but every time I hit a pad or try to assign a note to a pad on the MP, it plays some sounds from the Micro Korg. I've already gone to midi options and turned all notes off, I've set the MP to send and recieve on such an such channel. Local is turned onthe MP and the synth is set on Midi. I'm starting to feel like I'm running out of options but I know there is a solution to this. When I set the MP to MIDI on the main screen, then it only plays the trigger from the Korg, when I set it to drum, It plays the sequence that includes the sample and the midi data from the korg, but each pad will play a sound from the synth. I've been flipping through my manual and I'm stumped.

Micro should be on it's own track, set to the channel and output, and set to midi so you can play the keys and record. For a drum track, set the seq track to drum, and no midi channel.

ou might want to check soft through mode in the midi page too.

Em..Thanks for the quick reply. So here's the deal.

Micro Korg: Set to Channel 1. MPC3: Set to recieve on channel 1. MPC Main MEnu Screen: Track Info says Track 1- (its active) Type DRUM ON: YES
Chn: 1A-Strings & 1A Vel: 100% PGM: OFF

So PGM to is my hi-hats program but when I switch it to this it plays a program from the korg. I already hit MIDI: Option 2 and turned off the Soft Thru function, but each pad is still giving me keys from the Micro.

Anymore suggestions? I'ma bout to turn the MP off and try again another day...

Elmacaco is the one to answer that one, but he is right, put that microkorg on its own track.

Change Drum to Midi. That's your problem.
