Opening up the MPC One

Hey all!

Does anyone here have experience opening up the MPC One? I've searched and cannot find a video on how to do it. I need to get in and clean the pad sensors.

If there is no video that anyone knows of, does anyone have a recommendation on which screws to remove and how to remove the case?

Hah, thanks man. I’ll make sure to video the head banging part before and after I lose some screws .

I use paper to draw it out... but yeah... get something to draw pictures of each "layer" and if you have to take pictures/videos as well... and use tape to hold stuff down if you need to.

Also... and you don't always hear this advice, but I think it is important... if you feel yourself getting tired or frustrated, walk away... it's way better to take a break, cool off, and clear your head... then do some damage and piss yourself off enough that you want to throw it in the trash...

I took my MPC Live MK1 apart... Somewhat. I would take a photo of your MPC and color code where each of the screws go... Also, remember the steps you took - write it up or make a video. I wrote it down.

Your MPC One is literally less than a year old (and under warranty). There's no way you should need to clean your pad sensors. I mean, unless you dumped some coffee or bourbon on them???

LOL darn, I was hoping this thread would have more to it. I've yet to open mine its 20 days old. (I have installed thekikgen's modded 2.9.0 fw with ssh tho totally worth doing). I'm interested to know if the MPC one's "internal mmc" is still just an sd card. I think I may have a method for booting those units off an SD rather than EMMC allowing users to heavily modify the firmware and roll back simply by removing the internal MMC card.

1. Why would you need to open your 20 day old MPC One? Just curious...

As far as the issue goes, when I press a pad, it triggers others occasionally. I have checked the settings, reset back to factory, checked triggering options etc. It is still doing it. If it isn’t fixed now that I have updated to 2.9.1, I am going to ask if I can send it back for repairs to Akai.

Have you went into the Settings => Hardware menu and tried backing off on the Pad Threshold and Pad Sensitivity?

Yes, still no luck.
