have been trying to choose protools as my sample editor but without success. at first i thought the aksys was bugging but when i downloaded samplemanager and tried with that it worked.
there must be a lot of protools users here, so i´m wondering if you have experienced the same thing or if its just my setup.

i would really appreciate some help.
i´m not really keen on learning a new program at the moment. i´ve got my hands full with the mpc

i´m using:

g5 os10.3.7
protools 6.7
mpc 4k os 1.6
aksys 2.61

when you edit your samples are you saving them as waves, are you planning on sending your samples into your mpc. If so your mpc support wave files from 24/96 on down to 16/44.

sorry, i was a bit unclear.
the thing is that aksys is not letting me choose protools as the sample editor, at least nothing happens when i choose pt. when i click a sample aksys just asks me over and over to choose the sample editor although i have chosen pt. so i´m a bit confused, you should be able to use protools,uh?

Don't know about choosing protools as an editor but maybe this way might work out for you. Checkit out, you should be able to use import files on pro tools it allow you to choose which device to export sounds from. Via aksys you can import straight out of the mpc into protools

i´ll try that out, i´ll get my computer back from repiar center tomorrow.
by the way, is the mpc supposed to appear on the desktop when you hook it up? my didn´t but i found it via aksys.

There's no desktop icon. Opening Ak.sys is the normal routine here.

About protools. My guess is you can only open protools with a protools session. Waves are imported in protools not opened.

Hope this is clear, got to run.

Cheers!

Yeah, As Pro Tools is not a standard audio editor, you cant choose it as your sample editor in Aksys.

You could try the following tho:
Fire up Aksys then fire up Pro Tools and drag your wav files from Aksys to an audio track in Pro Tools. I dunno if this works, but I guess there is no harm in trying it ;)
Be sure tho to drag mono audio on mono tracks and stereo on stereo.
Good luck and let us know if this method works. :!:

Hola to all Swedish gals! :D

ps, OS 1.7 is out, you might want to install that. It runs better and smoother then OS 1.6, wich you have now:

OS 1.7
OS Loader for OSX
