Loss of MIDI Data coming in

Hi MPC Forumers, hope you are all well. I have a bit of an issue I am hoping to get some help with.

I'm running electronic drums into the MPC via MIDI. All works fine, except the drums that have multiple "zones" ie cymbal rim vs cymbal e3dge, the snare head vs rim etc. In these cases I am aware the yamaha kit I'm using basically has a single pick up and just switches that inform the brain where the pick up is picking up its info, basically its this extra data that's missing.

Now we could blame the drums, except that if I plug into the computer it records perfectly all info, so we know the data is going out, question is, why does the MPC not understand it? How can I fix it?

I've got info out of MIDI-Ox so I know some numbers that apply to the messages I'm referring to, but without knowing where to cross-reference that with what the MPC is receiving, I don't know what good that does me. So, how can I get into the fine tuning of the MPC's input filtering?

If it is Sysex data that the Yamaha kit is sending/receiving, this may be causing your issue.

Do you know what kind of data is sending between note/velocity/pitch bend/aftertouch/cc/sysex/etc?

Okay, so the data headings that I am getting off MIDI-Ox are:
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
and data under that is like e.g.
0035ED9C 2 -- 99 26 6B 10 D 2 Note On

I must confess I have never heard of Sysex data before, I am kinda beyond the limit of my MIDI knowledge really...can you tell from that? how would I find out?

In fact, my drum brain manual:
System Exclusive o x - where the o is under "transmitted" so yes, is the answer.
Right, so...what's my solution? Yuo say if it is SysEx data it MAY cause a problem....so, what would be the way to make it not cause a problem? Is there a workaround?
