Howdy friends, so here's the run down. I'm building a custom firmware for the MPC. It houses both MPC and FORCE builds of the MPC software. However there are a few pitfalls within this venture, I posess none of the synth presets for the "Hype" plugin. They reside on /media/az01-content/Synths.

Could one of you kind souls give me just one preset setting out of the package? (The default.xpl is fine by me...) I also need one of the oscillators and an idea of that synth folders contents. I want to include atleast a basic preset so users arent completely let down. Ultimately later they could have a friend send them to them and insert them themselves.

We can turn your force into an MPC too.. help me help you! LOLOLOL

sigh lol... ssh is secure shell protocol. it lets you tunnel a command line over ethernet.

Haha, alright...I have know idea of how to do that. Sorry.
But I have another question ;)
If you are tampering with the firmware...do you think it would be possible to enable class compliant audio-interfaces??? I am hoping desperately for Akai to implement this, but if someone else did it, I would be just as happy!

The problem there is that stuff isnt in the *firmware* its in the kernel. However you can cross-compile the kernel modules with an armel toolchain and insert them into the file system and mod plug them.

However, I am going to stop you there... chances are you dont know how to cross compile kernel modules and stuff this making it very unlikely for you.

You're that someone else. I personally have zero interest on implementing stuff I dont and wont use. Also the kernel see's the soundcards just fine, its the MPC software that doesn't select it. The limitations arent in the underlaying operating system they are in the MPC softwares build state.

I see, thanks for the info.
Well then I really hope someone will tackle the software and enable interfaces (as I sure as hell can't).

I can understand not wanting to work on stuff you don't need though!
Good luck with your work and sorry I couldn't be of any help!

see the problem is, I am not an engineer for akai hehe. I dont actually have their "source code" for the MPC software. So I cant add features to it in any sane capacity, there are some hackey work-arounds but its not worth the effort is all and hey no worries! i thank you for taking the time to even read my post lol.
