Akai s950 memory question

Hello,
I know this question ins't about an MPC, but I figure someone on here might know. I recently copped an akai s950, but have no idea how much memory is in it. I was told that when it starts up it tells you, mine says "1536K words". I was told then that it has expanded memory. But than I was told to check how much sample time is on it, and it said "2000ms", and the same person said "well that means its standard memory, no expansion". So I'm in a rut, and have no clue whats up with my s950, or if I should cop a memory expansion. Any info would help, Thanks alot in advance!

Here's what somebody posted in the For Sale section:

"512Kwords is stock memory(750kbs)...

1024Kwords is expanded memory to 1.5mbs...(1 expansion board)

1536Kwords is expanded memory to 2.25mbs...(2 expansion boards)

because the sampler is 12-bit, it only shows 2/3 or so of the memory onscreen, as a 12-bit "word" is longer than an 8-bit "word"... "
