No I don't use a daw, only standalone. Never connect to a computer. I even download updates and expansions on my phone and transfer them with those SD and flash drives I mentioned.

I noticed you had made the thread with the invalid serial number, my mpc one looks like that as well. Im wondering if the saving issue is related. Let's ask the OP as well to see if there is a pattern here.

A couple of us with this issue have had an "invalid serial number" displayed in menu-preferences-info screen. Does yours display this as well? Maybe the issue is some how related.

no issues with saving samples to my ssd on the live mk1 after 2.9.
saved and re-loaded at least 3 different projects since.
only issue i ran to is this:
i was trying to export a preview of a track i'm working on to send to the label and i exported it in mp3 192kbps format to an ext. usb hdd. the track came out totally silent.
re-exported on the same hdd as .wav, it worked.
never had this issue before but i didn't try to replicate it. gonna try this evening and see if its a recurrent issue.

These are some of the export bugs that need to fixed. It's random when it happens, sometimes it happens when exporting single files or when exporting multi stems. They've been dealing with different exporting bugs for a long time. I don't understand why they just don't dedicate time to fully correcting it.

is this a known bug? i just got a mpc one and saved to a 2GB card, now i switched to a 32GB card and created some subfolders, i get the error when I try to save to the 32GB Card, i can save to a 2GB or a USB drive without problems. I formated the card inside the MPC, right now im copying everything to the 32GB card which i formated to NTFS.

Do some of the names have special characters?
Really long names?

I had no problem re-loading, re-saving older mpc x projects (2.6 thru 2.8 created projects.)

I don't think any of my projects names are any longer than 6-8 characters (habit from 2kxl days) and I use no special characters ever (same habit). Some files have really long names but that hasn't been a problem on X at all.

All my usb sticks and sd cards are exfat and diff sizes from 16gb-64gb.
