Explain to me why disk streaming is so important to you...

I wouldn't mind it in the browser, because that would enable the possibility of being able to listen and load any part of a file larger than would fit in memory.

Right now this is not possible. I realize of course that disk streaming is not needed for this to be possible, but that is one thing that I see as important. I.e. the big files, not DS per se. Other than that, no interest from me. I would rather have the MIDI implementation properly done.

In fact as a professional DJ the first project i created when i got Live was a DJ template and i was kinda surprised when i discovered i couldn’t stream audio from a 2017 machine.
The DJ template is ready since day 1 and waiting for Disk Streaming to take it to the next level.Insanely creative and fun but it was limited due to the number of tracks i could load..Maybe I’ll upgrade the 500GB SSD i’ve installed to a 1 or 2TB drive once Disk Streaming drops and ditch my MacBook Pro for my DJ sessions

Oh yes! I'm a DJ too and I would be happy to test the MPC for a DJ Set (not during hours, say just 1 hour) if ever Disc Streaming will come. But in order to be handy, it would be good to have little improvements in the browser (for example sort songs by tags, especially by "Genre").

Disk streaming is not important to me. However, I can see the advantages such as no lag while loading data into ram and being able to utilize larger files. This would also eliminate limits on sample memory. This also leaves more RAM for processing plugins and FX as well, which could lead to longer look ahead times and lower latency on larger projects.

This is assuming you are using a quality SSD.

Will DS offer the following in standalone:
1. offer away to work with long sample like a CDJ: pitch sample, scroll through sample and create loop points before loading into ram. Removing the "do it" fuctions.
2. offer away to cue the next project while one continues to play.
3. offer different project types for what the user is trying to do for example: default is the current 128 tracks and 8 audio tracks, multi timbral project 64 tracks and 8 audio tracks, 32 tracks and 16 audio track with 16 USB audio out .

The main reason I want disk streaming is to have more audio tracks for vocal sessions. Since Dan has stated disk streaming still wont remove the 8 track limitation my lust for streaming was waned.

I pair the Live with a midi Tascam DP24 and get my projects done with it. I'm probably going to add a a second midi dp24 or dp32 if I can find one.

They made two models the ones with SD title doesn’t have a midi port, it was removed. The Tascam Dp 24/32 Sd’s are like MK2s.

Can you record the 3 stereo Live outputs in real time on Dp24? To an sd card?
I am thinking to get a Tascam model 12 for that but I didn't know this dp24.
Can it also work as a mixer?

Yes you can record all the mpc outputs in real-time to the tascam dp and to a sd card. The biggest difference with the model 12 is that there are no copy and paste tracks options, no virtual tracks, and no input routing options. Also the max sad card size on the Dp 24/32 is 32gb. The model series I think can go to 512gb. Glad to see they added midi to the model 12 though.

Every few months I read the manual of the model 24 but with no way to route inputs outside of sub outs i end up not buying it.

I’d like to see disk streaming just to overcome the 5 minute record limit on audio tracks.

If they could up that limit, the MPC range could rival most hardware multitrack recorders, plus have all the MPC functionality in one unit.

My favourite aspect of disk streaming (not yet mentioned here). Is having a bunch of multi-sample patches (I.e. a folder of multi-sample instruments of the same kind, like sub-bass patches), and being able to scroll through them and listen to how they sound, using the midi of the track. This is huge for me.

Both the deluge and I think the Blackbox 1010 can do this.

Tried it with clip launching and it’s freakin amazing with various filters/FX and XY manipulation!

Im Able to do this from the Browser Page with the Audition turned on?

For me I hear the expansion program preview .mp3. Not the same as hearing the instrument in the track, at the right, time, with the song notes in key.
