I wonder if anyone on the forum has decided to take the humongous undertaking that is replacing the factory installed mpc live pads with the fat pads.... as far as esthetics i really like the white see through fat pads... but do they improve the sensitivity and feel?
I like the current pads tho they could be a little bit more sensitive (and i should play around with the sensitivity settings a little bit too to see if tweaks are added value) But aside from that, anyone actually managed to install it?? and is happy with the result aside from cosmetics and the fact the mpc is still functioning after installing those new pads
im curious

Not worth it for me...But....That $40 or 50....Plus tearing down the Live, Moving Circuit Boards out the way, may be worth it for you. Not sure how much more height and thickness you'll gain when you replace it either.

Go For It...Let us know how it turned out

From my point of view fat pads are nice. I had some issues with double triggering and by replacing the pads the problem disappear. I expect them to be as soft as the Korg pad Kontrol's pads but they aren't. They are just little bit softer than the originals. I would like them to be less transparent (when all the lights are on it looks like carnival) but I like them. It was easy to install, just following the video. I didn't have any issues with custom here in Europe.

i am tempted but i am too paranoid i might break something, i been proscrastinating replacing my laptop fans...
(im about to do it today tho) maybe if i feel more confident, i might order the pads and perhaps skin, and procrastinate that for a few months...

I've played around inside mines. Its not bad once you figure where the connectors go back. There's a Few Empty Connector slots thats probably used for diagnostics, I had to remember that Nothing plugs in to it. Its Doable tho.

Take pics, before and after removing something, all the time, every time.

Just dewwww it. If i can source some im gonna schlap some in my mpc. These stiff 'uns nake my fingers hurt a bit after a little while. Unless you're some kinda frickin ape with tools taking apart the mpc isnt that hard lol.. its like 3 boards... grab a few diff cups and sort the screws by layers that you take off and you'll be fine.. make sure to destatic the unit as well. (press power button and hold it a moment after removing the power adaptor) should use up and left over power in the psu's caps then its safe to touch. You can dew it! I beleive in you lolol. more or less i just want to to follow your fat pad dreams and not get bent over by some know it all installing them like its a complex task then snickering about it when you arent around. Obviously there's some outside risk of you boobing something up but if you dont risk stuff you dont get rewarded... then you're just like all the others.
