Sounds won't assign by pads in sample assign mode

Good afternoon.
When I get to the sample assign section the sounds won't automatically assign to the pad when i scroll to the sound and hit the pad I want it to go to, I have to double click the sound itself. Would anyone have any help on this matter, thanks.

You have to double click and the sample will go the selected pad (selected pad will have a green light, touching that pad again will deselect it). I'm on MPC X so I can also hit the middle cursor button. IDK what else you can hit on One or Live.

But, double tapping works on all mpc's.
