As an owner of the first Live, I felt that it was already pretty larger to stuff into a normal size backpack to travel, but I made it work with a larger bag. The Live 2 is obviously even bigger and heavier. If I need a speaker I'll use an aux cord and a portable Bluetooth speaker, easier to pack and you choose the speaker.
As for the added buttons on the face of the unit, they should've been there to begin with but using menu ÷ pad combinations achieves the same result as if you were to press shift and the new buttons for their alternative functionality. I'm still trying to see if the Live 2 is worthy of the hassle of upgrading.
The Live 2 retro looks sick, that's the biggest draw for me but like I said, it's too big and doesn't have enough increased functionality to justify it. Yeah, it has CV, but I think the vast majority of MPC users likely don't need or use CV functionality.
The reason for this post is I think the Live Mk1 will quite possibly begin to he sought after as time goes by. Once the novelty of the new gear goes away, the mk1 will seem like the more portable and possibly more sought after of the two, anyone else agree?
Lastly, I think the Live should've initially looked more like the One, with the features of the Live as far as ssd and battery. Picture a slight smaller Force with the traditional 16 pads. They could've also chosen better color for the buttons than traffic light yellow but hey, they're cutting costs on redesign and supply. I'm just rambling. Thoughts?
