On 2.7.1. Is it worth it to update to 2.9?

On 2.7.1. Is it worth it to update to 2.9?

I'm running Big Sur (11.2.3) on a mid 2014 iMac, and a retro edition Live II with 2.7.1.

- Is it true that future firmware editions have usb midi out now?

- Is it worth it to upgrade the firmware? Should I risk the potential hassle?

- Is it possible to go back to an earlier version, if this doesn't work for me?

Yes, it’s no problem to go back to previous versions as long as you have the previous OS files.

Try any OS you like.

I support the migration to 2.9.1 myself... though my advice... if you load your older 2.7.1 projects, don't save with firmware 2.9 with them or you won't be able to go back. Either backup your files from your MPC, or make sure that you save to a new file/folder.

And yes, I'm using MPC X, 2.9.1

Korg usb midi -> 4 port USB 3.0 Powered hub
Moog usb midi -> 4 port USB 3.0 Powered hub

4 port USB 3.0 Powered hub -> MPC X (master/sequencer/clock)
