My MPC One freezes up every time I try to read the SD Card. I give it 10 minutes or more and it just won't budge. Is this just something I need to learn to live with? This is my first MPC, so I don't know what frustrations just come with the territory and which ones can be solved. The card has plenty of space on it. My questions:

Does the speed of the SD card make a difference? It says it reads at 633x and writes at 95 MB/s. I do not write to it.

Is it normal for the unit to not power down if the SD card is still in it?

Should I eject the card before shutting down at the end of each session?

Thanks for the guidance I receive here. This MPC is going to bring me so much happiness some day. I'm still in the phase of two steps forward and one step back every time I sit down to work on it.

Yes, you should definitely try a different SD card, formatted to exFAT, get one with good reviews and buy from a reputable site to ensure you don't get a fake. I recently wrote an article about MPC disk options, the Integral microSD mentioned in my article performs very well:

Thanks folks. I had read the suggested thread when I deciding to buy this SD card, and I didn't think of it getting corrupted. Thanks for that. I will read that article also. So many things to learn. Everything was going great until the card started acting up.

The MPC1K taught me to stick with solid brands like sandisk. Losing projects to faulty storage led me to ditch my MV8000 & return to AKAI land.

Solid SD cards are so cheap nowadays, I fail to understand y APPLE refuses to allow them in their phones ;-(
