Its because not all MPCs were built the same. Some made with quality parts, others used cheap parts. Just look at the new RAM expansion hack, some users found inferior SD cards inside the MPC's RAM, so they copied the OS and replaced the SD card with Sandisk and they managed to expand the RAM capacity.

If Akai would have equally built these MPCs with the exact parts from one manufacturer, then I doubt we have these problems today of where one user has issues and the other doesn't.


You're confusing RAM and Storage. You can swap out the internal SD Card to get more internal DISK space, but it is not possible to change the RAM. The RAM is soldered onto the CPU card and not able to be changed.

Akai is just using mass market SD Cards for the internal drive - this is perfectly normal and doesn't mean some were built with quality parts and some were built with inferior parts.

I'm trying to downgrade, and, it's saying the files are missing, is it possible too downgrade the One, to an older Firmware? I downloaded the firmware from the Akai archive pdf.
