That should work. Cut the yellow and black lines off on the left side. Then solder the red and black lines to the red and black from the MPC floppy power supply.

Safer to use a terminal block

thanks cypher and bravo. given my soldering skills (none) i'd rather use a block - thats where you screw in both sides like a mains plug correct?
