How do you see the names of other MIDI devices via USB?

I've seen Youtube tutorials where they can see the name of other MIDI instruments connected by USB on the MPC One interface, but I can't make this happen for myself. The videos are from before firmware 2.9.1, which is what I have. Is this feature not available with 2.9.1 or might I have a bad MPC One? So far I've tried a Keystep 37 and a Yamaha Reface.

It still works in 2.9.1.

I don't have either the Keystep or Yamaha Reface... so cannot try those, but I do know things like OP-1 show up with a name in the list.

Screenshots /photos would be a big help to show exactly what it is you are seeing, or post a video etc.

I have a Retrokits RK-006 and was able to name each of the MIDI ports that are exposed by that device. Granted, those are physical MIDI ports but they’re exposed via USB MIDI.

The naming is in the settings for the MPC under the MIDI section.

He told me separately that he was actually running 2.7.2, not 2.9.1. These features didn't appear until 2.8.
