Extending a bass note over Several bars

What is the best way to extend a bass note (in a key group program ) over several bars with out effecting the other notes in the program.

So basically I've selected the NOTE ON function and dragged the note over several bars but the note obviously fades off far sooner then I would like. I want a solid bass note over several bars with out it fading off

Stupid question, but is the bass sample looped at first place? does it have looping points?

no its not looped but the bass note fades so I was wondering if it was possible to extend that note

new track -same program.................... or new track - duplicate program

obviously if your sample is a one shot that fades you have to have looping of the sample involved

If its not Looping, You'll have to open the Sample in Sample Edit, toggle the Loop Lock, and set the Loop Point. This way you'll have better control of the Bass Note in the Keygroup Program

Yeah man that's sampling 101 from all the way back at the beginning. Even those lovely 80s/90s romplers like the Rolands are just samples with loop points. Thats how you hold down those pads and they sustain forever.. This is probably one of the hardest parts about sampling. Some one shots just dont work, some take 2 seconds (a raw synth waveform should be dead simple) and others you gotta keep playing with the loop until you find 'the right one'. Luckily the MPC has all the facilities to keep your loops running while you tweak the loop points.

OK thanks for the knowledge gentlemanz. I forget to use the duplicate program in my creative thinking process. You get to a point where you've learned so much and forget about some of the techniques you've learned along the way.
