Is it possible to scratch samples on Live II?

Hey y’all,

New Live II user here and first time poster.

Just wondering if it’s possible to se the X/Y pad to scratch samples?

Or maybe some other method?

Well the classic way to mimic scratching with an MPC is to assign a pad to a Q-LINK slider mapped to the tuning parameter. This is still possible, but we no longer have sliders and performing this using a q-link dial is less than ideal. I did some MPC2500 scratching in this old video I made years ago (around the 4:12 mark)



Maybe someone has come up with something using xyfx or qlinks or some other clever way (16 levels perhaps?), interesting to know. You can also probably use the pitch bend on an attached MIDI keyboard to control the pitch of the scratch, as long as it's in a keyboard program.

Or, I imagine, pretty much any midi controller with sliders.

I have a folder full of Scratches. I Combine a Program with Scratch Samples and then i 16 Level the Pad I want. And add the scratches after i lay down the sample. Kind of a Cheat...but hey.

Either that or Sample me Scratchin the Sample on my Gemini CD DJ Deck
