Some global midi cc's no hacking.

So I see a lot if midi questions here, heck i ask a lot of midi questions here and get lots of views with few answers. So here's a little gem I forgot to mention sooner because I just assumed people knew this stuff but maybe there are people who dont.

Want track volume control? maybe modulation on a knob? Do you have a programable controller? (mpk mini will work)

If so you can insert any of these cc's and churn up some nice results. I highly suggest mapping 7 (selected track volume parameter) and 1 (selected track's mod wheel parameter) 11 is also interesting it's expression. I havent tested them all I just use the ones I am familiar with.

The cc parameters the knobs control will transfer from program to program as well, they arent bound to a single program or track as it is in "midi learn".

Oh , so is that's why my Launchkey Mini Mk3 has its "modulation" touchstrip usually automatically mapped to the instrument's filter cutoff frequency !

Hype's Setup tab has a MIDI Control section that confirms it: it lets the user choose the destination for "mod wheel" - default is Cutoff. And there is also a destination for aftertouch, for the rich people !

Strange behaviour though: I hear the touchstrip indeed modulates the instrument's filter cutoff frequency but, when in Program Edit, the button drawn on screen in the to display does not move ! Likewise when recording, modulation by the touchstrip the is recorded as the Modulation parameter, whereas modulation by the Cutoff's Qlink in Program Edit is recorded as the program's Cutoff parameter. Both render correctly on play, but damn is this confusing inconsistency !

With Mini D, the naming makes this situation even more confusing: Program Edit's Controller tab's first box's first Qlink is called "Mod wheel" but it is also different from the Modulation parameter where the actual mod wheel output from an external keyboard (in that case an elderly Yamaha PSR) is recorded !

I just got the Launch Control, I chose it over the Akai MidiMix, as the Akai only has 2 Templates. The Novation has 8, so each bank can be set up for each synth. Hopefully it will really open up the Jura, Mini and Odyssey, although my main priority is the OPX4, which will need more than one bank.
