MPC2000XL

Just wondering if there is any way to sample and have the beat playing at the same time on the MPC2000XL?...... i havent been able to figure it out if there actually is a way.....

I'm trying to add female vocals over the beat, and i just want to record it into the MPC since my Computer is No longer functioning......... but i cant keep the beat playing and sample at the same time.....

Can't you sample the vocals in seperate. Is your ram maxed?

Yeah i have RAM, but if i got a girl in there trying to lay down a vocal sample she kinda needs to hear the track...... as of right now i'm just hooking up a click track for her on my keyboard but it would be a lot easier for her to stay in key if she actually is hearing the track as opposed to the click. ya know what im sayin? i mean it all comes down to me having to get a computer but i was just curious whether or not there was a way around this problem....but i didnt think there was....
