Warp settings still there. On the left in preferences, drag the menu upwards to reveal 'General'.

Also....

I think that How we have to Load the Synth Folder onto our SD/HDD, kinda opens the door for Other 3rd Party VSTi Support....Hopefully

Yep, same for me... I am ignoring it. Like you mentioned, still connects and synchronizes...

I hope so.

I'm still getting the message to download the folder, but the synths are working fine since moving the folder to my SSD.

Anyone know EXACTLY where this synth folder should go? I have mine at the root. Is anyone else still getting message after installing the synth folder?

Some of them are sample based so this is basically just the synths samples. Without this, the plugin wont make any noise. Doesn't really help for VST support or anything though.

Do you mean if you buy one of Akai's sample expansions you don't have access to re-download it, say, 6 months later if you were to lose it or if there was an update?

The expansions that are free and bundled with your Mac stay in your akai pro account.

The ones that you buy only have a choice of 1year of extended download (that you have to pay for) and don’t link to your akai pro account.

That’s some early 2000’s account style function.

Well, Akai use Fastspring to handle all their expansion sales, I've also used them previously (but not any more). Fastspring are actually a reseller rather than a payment processor, so your invoice is actually with Fastspring, not Akai and Fastspring handle the delivery of the expansions.

Fastspring have a 7 day expiry time on their initial download links (Fastspring's limit, it can't be changed) and they also give vendors the option to offer the customer a 1 year extended download (for $, which is split 50/50 between Fastspring and the vendor). Vendors can disable that option - I never realised anyone actually activated that option.

But after the link expires the vendor can reset the original download link and this can be reset an unlimited number of times, even if they don't purchase this 1 year extension. I'm sure if you contact Akai they would reset your link (there's a copy of the link in Fastspring admin).

fastspring also offer quite a comprehensive backend integration which could be used to automatically mirror orders on your own site and hence offer your own download links, so there's no need to be tied into the 7 day system.

can we give Akai some credit for continuing to develop this in a dope and useful/inspiring way?

giving us great free updates

and continuing to fix bugs and address the various issues

i recall people saying they did not care about having synths or that they did not want any more built in synths but i bet they gone silent or changed minds now init?

Thanks! So I guess any where on the SSD. Cool. Hopefully Akai addresses the missing folder message despite it being present.

It's great they've continued with the updates, I don't think anyone thought they would plus we've had 2 or 3 free updates so far that I think most people would have paid an upgrade fee for.

I don't think people will ever be 100% happy though, they always crave more, but ultimately it's a good thing to keep pushing. It's come a long way since MPC Software 1.0.

Man I was just able to download the Synths. WHEW!!! Akai and AiR took it to the NEXT Level with this Update. I can see AIR releasing more "Instruments" in the Future.

So after 7 days the link expires but the vendor can reset the original download link at the customer's request, at no cost to the vendor and this can be reset an unlimited number of times. I would assume/hope Akai would do this if you asked them directly, it literally takes 30 seconds.

fastspring also offer quite a comprehensive backend integration which I used to automatically create a copy of each Fastspring order on my own site, so customers can log in at MPC-Samples and re-download whenever they wanted, no limits. I'm surprised Akai haven't used that API to do something similar.

I’m going to make some calls now. I need the Mac installers of all my early purchases. I only kept the windows one because I never thought I would switch to a Mac.
