bug: when the "instant track mute" option is engaged, it mutes midi note hits across all tracks using the same program.... I usually chop up a sample and use the same program for my A part, B part, C part etc, and now it is choking out midi hits in muted tracks during playback... in previous software versions this wasnt happening, and when i muted the track it would just kill the sound from whatever track i was currently on... wish theyd bring this back because its a feature that i really enjoyed but cannot use now. Also the fact we now have to active the tracks before recording is super annoying... hopefully this gets sorted out quickly

I'm finding that the Copy Button takes Seconds longer to actually show up on the screen now. Which makes copying a pad take longer, have a hiccup type feeling. Never had that before. How fast it used to work was amazing. I could blaze through tracks. Now... I gotta slow down every time I copy.... It's a shame.

To add onto this, I’m experiencing the same issue. Here’s the link to my original post about it (which I don’t explained very well, but still for some context): viewtopic.php?f=48&t=211578

Here’s a video of me showing the issue:

So this track mute issue actually looks like what I get on my first empty track when I ALS Export. I get a Track that to the eye looks silent but has small sounds like that, as if channels are leaking. I just Always skipped Track1. I dunno why. But since these new mpcs i just did it. I think there was an issue once or something in the past so i skipped it and just kept doing so.

Maybe it is related?
Have you tried changing tracks? intead of using one try another? just curious if its tied to the programs or the tracks.

Changing tracks doesn't solve anything. As long as multiple tracks contain the same program the issue persists. Can't speak on the whole ALS export thing because I never use that feature. I think the issue could be tied to both programs and tracks somehow. For example, If I set the program master to polyphony, the pads on the track that would otherwise be cutting out play out all the way. So there may be some "channel leaking", as you put it, at the pad level. The part that really confuses me is how "instant track mute" would affect this behavior at the pad level at all? :hmmm:

This track/program mute confusion appeared for me on every previous version ... Not when muting , but when writing mute and solo automation , track mute automation was muting every track using the same pgm... Workaround : duplicate pgm each time I Use it on one track , it doesn't charge the RAM.. Lot of pgm using the same samples, but this way you can modify it on the fly without affecting other track/sequences :smoker:

Custom chord progressions missing for me now. I installed a folder full of chord progressions on the root drive of my thumb drive. They were accessible on the last version but now I can't see them anymore. I can view them from the browser though.

I guess that only 44.1kHz audio interfaces are supported in standalone MPC 2.10. Buzz-kill...

I was super excited about the standalone USB audio interfacing feature included in 2.10 release. That was until I realized my Yamaha TF mixer interface only supports 48kHz sample rate (why?) and so far not found any sample rate adjustment on standalone MPC X apparently NOT using 48kHz....according to Yamaha's console error message and poor USB-garbled input audio quality.

If Akai is smarter than Yamaha, then standalone MPC firmware has or will support at least 44.1kHz AND 48kHz (as does their Windows USB Driver). Please help me find a USB audio interface sample rate setting, else good candidate for inclusion in 2.11 release.

I mentioned yesterday that I no longer have “chromatic” as a scale option. Any ideas? I tried resetting everything but no change.

Hi There,

trying to load projects from older firmwares (2.9.1 in my case) I experienced that for keygroup programs on the Pad Perform dialog (pressing the "notes" button) the scale was not completely defined / not correctly taken over from the project. This led to the same pad assignments for chromatic, notes, chords and chromatic chords.
When setting the empty field to e.g. "major" (or whatever is desired) the pads are back to normal hence also chromatic gives the pad assignments as expected.
This did not occur on a new project so far for me.
Maybe this helps for your issue as well?

take care

I think this was a big swing and a miss. First I was annoyed at how so many manufacturers don't have a Linux based class complaint audio interface. But, not Akais fault. THen the sample rate limitation kicks in and further narrows the pot for potential supported interfaces which is an "oops" by Akai. So far Tascam seems to be the best all in one solution: supported interface, hands on mixing, and doesn't break the bank.

This isn't a new bug, but appears to still be an issue. When receiving midi on two different channels from the same device, note off events are applied to all tracks receiving midi from that device, regardless of midi channel.

Say you have a midi controller with keys and pads - the keys send notes on channel 1 and the pads send notes on channel 2. And say the mpc has plugin program01 armed and listening for midi from the controller on channel 1, and plugin program02 armed and listening for midi from the controller on channel 2. If you press and hold c0 on the keys, then tap and let go c0 on the pad, both notes (program01 and program02) will stop when you let go of the c0 pad.

Nevermind, found them, smh. Please disregard!

Metronome is bugged out, I'm on an MPC Live and the metronome count-in doesn't work anymore. It kicks in when it starts recording but not before.

My settings are:

Count-in: Record
Enable: Record + Play

Did the upgrade yesterday, can't record/overdub anything! I've got a MPC Live. Reinstalled the update, reset the settings = same problem. How can I downgrade back to 2.9 ? (I don't have the file anymore).
What a waste of time... Next time, I'll wait before jumping on the latest upgrade. :x

In 2.10 when i load a PGM file the MPC just freezes and bricks until a hard reset. The buttons remain lit even after the screen goes black. This was reproduced in 100% of attempts with different PGM files. Tested on power brick and battery

Can't reproduce this, just tested with some mpc2500 PGM files. These were made in the free JJOS, but shouldn't matter. If you're happy to upload one of these PGMs to dropbox or similar, I'll try them to see what's what.

Have the same problem.

Programs I made in JJOS1, and even multisample programs I once bought here. Used to have no problems with the Live couple of years ago, and never with the Software.

Bought a brand new One yesterday, transferred a lot of folders to a brand new formatted (inside the MPC) SD Card. It is a micro though, don't know if that makes any difference. Used to have a micro SD with adapter inside the Live without any problems.

While experimenting trying to solve this I deleted one of the programs from the SD card, and dragged that same program from my computer to the SD card manually. After that I could load up the program without any problems. I tried to do that with other programs as well, but couldn't repeat the trick.
