In MPC beats say you have a beat going and you want to hear what a different kick sounds like. The only way I know how to audition different kicks is to actually drag them on the pad and change the sample on that pad.

It would be nice if I could hear how different kicks sound in the actual beat I have set, without have to change what's dedicated to the pad or without a bunch of extra clicking and dragging. Is there a way to do this?

You can trigger sounds from the browser, although not via pads. Try that.

Right but you can only trigger them once, but that doesn't really tell you how it will sound in your sequence, the beat you've got going. It will also just play in addition to whatever you're trying to replace so over all it's not that helpful.

I'm looking for a way to audition a sample in the sequence not just audition the sample by itself
