Purchasing MPC2 software

Hi folks,

I'm somewhat new to the MPC world. I purchased the MPC One a couple of months ago and am having a great time composing with it. I know I can't run my MPC One using the software (as you can with the Live II and X). So I'm wondering--is it worth purchasing the MPC2 software and working both from my Mac and the MPC One, especially if I'm dropping everything into my DAW anyway? Who told you that? Of course you can use the MPC one with the MPC software, 100%, and completely free for you. Create an akai account, register your MPC hardware and you'll get an activation code for the MPC software

Really! All the software reviews I read (and the Akai website) indicate that there is no direct interface between the MPC2 software package and the MPC One standalone. My MPC One and MPK Mini are both registered and Akai still says I have to pay $100 for the MPC2 software (Beats is free. I’ve downloaded and used it, but I’m concerned about some of its limitations in the long term). But if what you say is true, then I’ve got no problem dropping $100 extra for the MPC2 software. Thanks for the input!

MPC Software 2.x is a supplement to all next-gen MPCs (One, Live and Live mk.II and X). Don‘t buy it since you already have a licence.

Definitely free for the MPC one, don't pay. I think the $100 will be for the mpk, but you can use the free licence from your MPC one with the mpk. If there's no licence in your account, there should be, so give akai a call.
