MPC X discontinued?

The live had to be upgraded though because they wanted the one to get cv, and it was a more expensive model, it needed to have cv too or it had to die off.. Cv is a huge thing and it would hurt live sales if it didn't have that..
Akai has traditionally only replaced stuff when they feel they can really improve it to a certain standard.. Same with the mpc60mk2..
I don't see how the x could be improved significantly from a hardware perspective.. I could be wrong but i hope thru don't just throw a speaker and mic on it or something foolish.. Or even worse kill it off for the keyboard.. Sure the keyboard is awesome but the world needs a flagship mpc.. It is the only current one that has that tradition of old models of having every connection and feature you need..the live 2 I'd a budget model, not what mpc is about.. They are SUPPOSED to be crazy expensive.. And a BEAST.. Plus i don't see how they can make it smaller It is already filled up to the brim, without taking stuff away... It is perfect all ready.. Just make a retro version and let it be..

well what they could do is offer a big class compliant interface that doesn't suck balls (like the previous akai interfaces sucked balls)

The MPC X is widely available and hasn't been discontinued in anyway. The whole "some factory was on fire" makes no sense. All these products are produced at the exact same places, if the MPC X was impacted then all the MPC line would be.

Im still waiting on HDMI support for the X(mk2).
Possibly a Detachable LCD Screen/Tablet Controller to work Bluetooth-ly with the Other Models.
We Still Have Pre-amps on Two Inputs. Maybe Two More XLR Inputs

If they Discontinue Sales, I hope they Continue Support/Parts.

All mpc's have great parts availability and support.. You can still get parts for the mpc 60.. They all become classics even the renaissance has a following and lots of love.. These will go down in history mark my words.. Akai don't just make new models every couple years as a replacement line most companies unless there is a good reason.. And these still have a very bright future.. I would imagine there won't be any new replacements intel something truly new and revolutionary comes around. Thru will just keep filling in the holes in the market intel the next big wave comes.

Just fyi, I just got the message that no new MPC X's will be delivered anymore to my music shop (big shop, Bax, in a small country, the Netherlands). Since they also don't have stock anymore, they credited my payment for the X.

Yes, we've heard about Bax having issues with other MPC models as well - apparently they've claimed the MPC One is also being discontinued, however this was only released just over a year ago and is a best seller. In fact, the entire current range of MPCs is out of stock on the Bax site while most other retailers worldwide appear to have an abundance of stock.

I think this is a Bax stock sourcing problem.

MPC One is Thomann's #1 top seller in Grooveboxes category, and I think that's even excluding the retro etc special editions. People are talking about the MPC range a lot now, the 2.10.0 update gave it a big boost, and it's interesting not just from a "beat making" point of view but as a sequencer for modular and MIDI rigs.
