The live had to be upgraded though because they wanted the one to get cv, and it was a more expensive model, it needed to have cv too or it had to die off.. Cv is a huge thing and it would hurt live sales if it didn't have that..
Akai has traditionally only replaced stuff when they feel they can really improve it to a certain standard.. Same with the mpc60mk2..
I don't see how the x could be improved significantly from a hardware perspective.. I could be wrong but i hope thru don't just throw a speaker and mic on it or something foolish.. Or even worse kill it off for the keyboard.. Sure the keyboard is awesome but the world needs a flagship mpc.. It is the only current one that has that tradition of old models of having every connection and feature you need..the live 2 I'd a budget model, not what mpc is about.. They are SUPPOSED to be crazy expensive.. And a BEAST.. Plus i don't see how they can make it smaller It is already filled up to the brim, without taking stuff away... It is perfect all ready.. Just make a retro version and let it be..
