hello people. I would just like to report that when I first purchased my new MPC-X I ran it as a stand alone, and after I got the hang of it, I installed the MPC 2.6.0 software on my Mac Pro 12 core and ran the software successfully on the Mac.

no latency and no issues.

when I ran the MPC as a software plugin inside Cubase I had massive latency issues, and basically could not use the software successfully.

I tried adjusting Buffer settings, and even with settings as low as 32 buffer still had massive latency. the sounds would lag the hitting of the pads so much that I couldn't work that way.

after 2 weeks I discovered a cubase tutorial which discussed a thing called ASIO GUARD, which is supposed to improve latency, but I noticed that with ASIO GUARD set to high values that latency was actually worse.

I experimented and discovered that the LOWEST ASIO GUARD settings, actually produced the lowest latency (for the sounds) and that higher ASIO guard settings resulted in more latency.

this seems to be independent of any audio BUFFER settings within Cubase.

so my solution was to Reduce Asio Guard settings, and then run medium buffer , 256 or so.

I'm posting this as others could run into the same issues, and I wanted to share the solutions I found.

Best wishes to you all.
