anybody customized their 3000 or 60?

I know its kinda crazy but I was thinking of putting wood side panels on mine and painting it just for the hell of it. Anyone else do anything cool to theirs? Also if you paint it, is there a template you can get to put the lettering on? Post a pic if yours. I need ideas for the color scheme. Peace

I made wood sides on my 60 because the guy who had it before f&&&d up the right side one . It was a really old piece of wood ( i don't even know what type it is ) that i found in my cave ( it sounds pretty weird but it really looks good , i need to post pics and by the way it was free except for the time to make it )

Really can't take much credit, it was painted when I bought it. All I did was paint the screen casing, sand and brush the knobs to give it a brushed aluminum feel and replace the backlight with a white one. Oh yeah, I also put some tranfer lettering on it just the important buttons though not the whole thing

That looks good. What letters are you using? Are those like stick on ones? Does anyone know where you can get an actual repro of the letters/graphics? I was thinking of doing a silkscreen type of thing to recreate the actual lettering on the 3000. Seems like forat does it but I'm not trying to spend $600 to do this if I can do it myself y'know?

I called Forat about just doing the lettering alone and dude said $300

Those are dry transfer letters, they rub on. A little more secure than decals.

thanks, yeah the backlight was like $35 I believe. I took my display apart and mailed it to Telesis Gear and they put a new backlight in the display for me. Altogether it cost me $50 + $10 S&H. Here is their website http://backlights.telesisgear.com/

Forat does great work, but they do charge way too much.

By the way, do you guys f*ck with that solo on/off button alot? I've been toying with it.

Thats how i do rough mixdowns. Solo on and off and track mute, thats the only thing i miss on the 2K is the the 16 levels track control. No scrolling real quick back and forth.

yeah, solo is something I use a lot in complex sequences to check the timing of what I add on.
