Playing MPCx files in MPC Software

I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but when I’m opening an MPCX file xpj (running 2.10 ) into MPC software ( Software is MPC 2.6) the project opens perfectly but with no sound. All tracks are muted and manually I have to assign the plug-in, drum kits etc..to get sound out of it. In Addition to that afterwards some midi melodies are playing in the wrong key.

Is the latest MPCX version not compatible with MPC 2.6 software. Do I need update to MPC software to 2.10 so that files work smoothly?

I thought u can switch from MPCX to MPC and vice versa without having any sync problems.

I think you answered your own question, it seems 2.10 projects are not backward compatible with 2.6 projects. You should always run the same MPC version on your computer and in standalone.
