Well, that’s the whole point to give you extra outputs via external audio interface..
I was blown away when i saw 32 track channels playing through a Behringer X32 console :o Same goes for 32 input tracks..
This feature opens insane possibilities!
And yes this is over USB!

The "32 inputs/outputs" setting means adjusting the MPC's internal things - including the user interface - to allow for at most that many inputs and outputs. Regardless of how many inputs and outputs your audio interface actually supports. If "32 inputs/outputs" is NOT enabled, then the channel limits are according to the MPC X hardware - 4 inputs and 6 outputs, regardless of how many inputs and outputs your audio interface actually supports.
