One with powered usb-hub dont power up

Hello. First time poster here, i have been lurkin'n learning a lot here, so thanks to all of yous..
My problem is that my Mpc one dont power up if i leave it connected to my powered usb-hub.
If i unpluck the hub after use, next time One will start.

Is it possible that the hub feeds power to One while one is not on? Does One have some sort of protective relay etc. to prevent it from powering/frying?

I usually unpluck'em all but sometimes i forget. Is there a risk that it fries?

I’ve run into the same issue. I had a lengthy call with Akai about it today. They don’t believe that this should be happening, and they want me to RMA my MPC one. I believe it’s something to do with bad usb hubs backfeeding the 5v line upstream. When I start my MPC, it hangs on the splash screen. If I unplug the power from my MPC, the screen stays on until I remove the usb hub. This is very much not ok.

Have you tried a different powered USB hub? It does sound like it may be backfeeding power over the USB port to your One - which is not a good thing.

I'm in the same boat. Using a cheap RSHTECH four-port hub, my One won't start if it's connected. Anyone have any luck with different hubs?

Hey all, I bought an RSHTECH four-port hub based on a YouTube recommendation, and had the same issue with my One not starting up. I ordered an Anker 7-port for a bit more money, hooked it up and the One booted up like normal. That is exactly what is happening. The usb hub is powering the mainboard via usb. It sholdnt damage anything because your usb hub is the proper voltage spec. (5v).

However, the "lead" usb cable that goes from the hub to the mpc should NOT even be designed with the red wire hooked up.

usb pinout spec is like so

black (ground wire)
yellow (data+)
green (data-)
red (power)

In your scenario, your hub has a red wire on the lead where it should not exist. the option is to slice the loom and snip the red power wire only. then tape it up.
Use a set of nail clipers to gingerly snip the rubber off the outside of the wire that you plug into the mpc, strip it back a bit to expose the internal wiring and chop chop. now your hub has the proper electrical design.

Sadly, someone clearly didnt understand how to correctly design and fabricate that circuit by the sound of it. Trash hub.

Hmmm..well, I"m not sure if it matters if usb-hub is powered or not, since mine is not powered, but I also have same issue. Btw, my usb-hub is ORICO 4-port from Aliexpress

Something similar happened to me using the RSHTECH four-port hub. Could changing the wire of the usb hub solve the issue? Or is it more of an internal design issue?

It could also just be a faulty MPC in my case for the looks of it, as it didn't power up at all, even with the hub disconnected. But after an hour it did, and it seems to be working just fine now.

brand new mpc one plus. 3.4.1. but as soon i set my zoomr16 connected to the hub in interfacemode. it instantly boots up.
now i realize even with nothing connected to the hub that the mpc one plus doesn't boot. aww. il buy a new hub today and see..
