Spliting a drum track into several tracks for each elements

How do you do that ?
there is a "separate" function but it doesn't wotk for this.
any ideas ?

Copy the track to a number of different tracks, then delete all drum sounds except one.

there is no automated function to do that apparently

What about the MOVE NOTE function that was recently added?

split track feature is very high on my priority list in Future OS,

its so convinient to just jam your sound bank on one track and then have the MPC split all the pads(in that track) onto seperate tracks..

currnetly the fatest way is to:

*copy track (as many times as desierd

then hit
*Erase button (slecet "Erase all exept note"

then step though each track hitting Erase and the pad/s
u want not to be erase

The Erase window will remain in the same state as you left it in
so its baskily 3 finger movements

Hit Erase/ Hit Pad / Do it .... next track

there is sooooo much on the priority list that Im starting to think the MPC is wothless as an all-in-one device.

This operation barely takes a few seconds. And the MPC never misses a beat. When i find myself doing rapid edits like that on a computer, I find myself waiting for the computer to catch up.

The problem with copying tracks and then using ERASE to erase the redundent notes is that it messes up the track order. This is exectaly why always had trouble with my track orders. Because now you have to make your beats in advance of your music because otherwise all track orders would get messed up.

But fortunately you can change the track order:

press MAIN
select track field
press WINDOW
press SORT (F5)

Change track order window appears...

You're crazy, you can split the different notes into different tracks on a computer WAYYYYY faster than the MPC.

I set up a template file in the autoload folder. Track 1 is always kick, 2 is snare, 3 is always hi hat. I then record all notes on track one. Then select the notes and move to the appropriate tracks. Then I can use the other tracks for whatever.

... especially if ya dont know how to do it on the 4k overally i agree that an automated separate function would be nice but if ya split them up as glide says its really no big deal imo ...
