MPC Studio MK2 - MIDI mode possible?

Hi all.
Is there any way of turning the new MPC studio into a controller for logic and Ableton.
All I really need is the 128 pads via the 8 banks and the ability to turn on/off full level velocity.
I just wanted to see if this was possible before I got one.

When plugged into your computer (and no MPC Software), the unit appears dead and all the buttons just output random midi notes, they no longer function for their intended purpose so you cannot change pad banks, leaving the pads stuck on the default 16 midi notes.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot about MIDI mode, so yes can map stuff within the MPC Software to control other apps etc.

Oops, sorry forgot about that! Yes, you can access MIDI mode when the MPC Software is enabled, so you can map everything including the touch strip. I don't think you can do anything unless you have the mpc software open though.

Basically that stuff isn't a MPD. So people who think they can buy it and use it with another DAW like a MPD are wrong. This is really like the MPC Studio MKI without the screen and the Q-links and its MIDI not really useful outside MPC Software, especially since it is impossible to switch pad banks, so you are basically stuck with 16 pads... which makes it in my opinion not a really good device for the price.

Mode and pad 11 from the MPC Studio itself. Shift & CMD & M from the software.

Mode and Pad 11. I assigned Pad 1 as cc36 and up chromatically to 51, Save the setup. Open another DAW or plugin first as it allows the devices to been and mapped first. Then open MPC. Open the saved Midi mapping. I could then use a synth keyboard and the Studio MK2, with chromatically mapped pads.

Mode and Pad 11. Assign the keys to the cc of choice, 36 to 51 chromatically. Also have Global and control selected in the Midi Preferences. I switched on the 3rd party plugin to get the midi devices connected, then switched on mpc. Opened a saved file of the selected midi mapping and could get both synth and studio mk2 to funcion in midi mode successfully.

This guy wrote a script for the Studio to be used in Live. This was two years ago so I'm not sure where development is now. It's also not what I want to do with Studio so I never tried it.
