Mpc one in controller mode

Hi
I'd have question.
Im thinking of grabbing an used mpc one, theres one at a fair price near me.
Is there any trouble i'd better be aware of when using it as controller?
Im having such a trouble with the studio i might just put that in circulation and really ive been using it for just drums.
So its a bit nuclear option.
Had an live mk1 2 years ago but never even downloaded mpc software.
Guess i would hook this one to mixer too and feed it some analogs, so win win.. thanks

Do you want to know how it performs with the MPC software or are you referring to midi mode? If it's the former then it's pretty seemless and just as enjoyable as standalone, more so in some ways as you then have access to all your desktop plugins inside the software too and also the timestretch is far superior.. I haven't really used midi mode so I can't speak on that..

To use it as a generic MIDI Controller you have to open MPC Software running and configure it in MIDI Control mode. You can then assign various buttons etc. with typical MIDI channel messages (notes, CC, PC). That way you can ONLY use it as a controller, it‘s not easily switchable to control MPC Software again. But you‘ll love standalone anyway.

You can use your mpc as a controller without going into "controller mode". All you need to do is select a midi track rather than audio, plugin or drum program. choose a channel for it, and plug your cables into the pc, whether it be usb or 5 pin midi. You dont have to use controller mode, thats just if you want to utilize the internal soundcard as well.

Personally i think controller mode is junk so i treat my pc like a piece of rack equipment and just command it via midi and route its audio through a mixer and into my mpc to be captured.
