I just set up my mpc on controller mode via usb cable but I can’t hear audio when I’m trying to sample

where are you expecting the audio to come from? Controller Mode means the MPC does not do audio at all. That's why it is called Controller Mode. It's to control MPC Software.

Did you chose on the Software , MPC as the audio interface ?

Select MPC or PC sound card in MPC Software settings menu.
