S1000/Mpc 60 inverters

does anybody knows if these two pieces share the same el inverter ( the one for the screen ) ? a friend of mine has an old s1000 Pb ( only playback ) and i was just wondering if i could switch just to see if it makes a difference .Thanks

I did the tape trick already , the thing is i 'd like to know if it could improve the brightness , any info on it ?

Hmm, not sure, perhaps, you'll have to look at the schematics and see what voltages are being input and output from the inverters to really see compatibility. THe input voltages should match, the output on the 1000 should be higher if you are going to get more brightness. Maybe changing a componant in the inverter will boost it.

easiest way it to try your MPC backlight in the 1000 and see if it's brighter.

I don't really get it , is this possible that the screen lose brightness after the years ( i mean my lcd foil is brand new ) , it is a matter of light or maybe i 'm too much used to my 2000 xl one .Anyways thanks for your advice , i gonna open the 1000 just to see if there is a way to try .

yeah, the 2k's are much brighter, the screen has nothing to do with it, the backlight is always a bit weak. It would be cool if this could be boosted, but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe putting a different k ohm knob or changing the resistor on the inverter pcb .I 'm a bit afraid to f ## with that though .

im not sure what you mean by INVERTER, but... when i got a new backlight installed into my MPC60II at VST, the invoice listed the part as an
"S1000 backlight"... maybe this info will help...

It would take a modification of he circuit.

worth looking into, but the extra power draw might mess up the 60's power supply, so it's probably a no go.
