Keystep and the MPC One

Hi Guys n Girls
I have just connected a Keystep to my MPC One. Everything works as it should, but when I switch to controller mode (to use my MPC Software on PC), it stops working.

Is this normal?

plug the keystep into your PC when on controller mode

Thank you, that is what I did, but was hoping I did not have to plug-in/out the whole time...

Bought a UGreen USB3.0 2in 4out Switchbox and not only does the keystep works as expected, but also the M-AUDIO air 192|14

Win-win!
