Notes join unexpectedly on MIDI record

Hi,

when recording MIDI notes, as soon as I play a the same note twice they are getting joined to one long note. Does anyone have any idea why that is? Version is 2.10. Only happens with an external (USB connected) MIDI Keyboard/Synth.

I noticed this a couple of weeks back with a project I was working on. I have no idea why it happens but logic would suggest the 'note off' message is not getting there before the note is retriggered. I cant remember whether I was using MIDI or not though. Maybe a bug?

Edit: Just watched the vid and it looks weird, the 'note off' message is definitely fine. Ive definitely had the same behaviour but didn't actually see it at the time, I noticed it later

Yep, the moment the first note ends I expect it to happen due to receiving a note off. I tried a reverse sustain as well assuming that this would have any effect, but it didn‘t.

I figured out that it only happens, when I set the MIDI Input to all and since there‘s no other MIDI keyboard connected (only a controller sending cc notes) it‘s a bit of a draw back for me. When selecting the MIDI keyboard only it works.

Looks like a bug to me.

Please report it to Akai support, next time I come across it I'll take a photo and also report it.

If Akai actually allowed new users to join their forum, this whole process would be much simpler

I did once report a problem and never heard anything back. So I doubt there are high chances that they even read it. Do you know any other form than this one, which AKAI would be reacting to?

That form seems to be the best way to contact support. I'm new to this forum, there was no need but Akai support themselves pointed me here so I'm pretty sure they do keep an eye on things here. But its difficult to keep track of current bugs, I guess if they get enough reports of the same bug then they will have to log it.

In my case it was because the keyboard was sending the same notes in two different MIDI channels at once.
