Sending 8 tracks through - Mute Track not work as expected

Hey lads and ladies,

for a small project I set up my Virus Ti in multimode (different instruments on different midi channels).

The MPCX can route (send to) a signal from my keyboard to multiple channels - works (with flaws I need to inquire). Track 1 to track 2, track 2 to track 3, .....
- Problem is, that if I set "solo" on the track view it still sends signals to the other channels.
- I am working stand-alone as I do not like mouse clicking in DAWs - so I do not know whether this issue is here as well.

Is this a "limitation" of the MPC or do I miss something?

EDIT: turning down volume of each track is silly - but works.
EDIT 2: This is NOT for recorded MIDI information, but for live playing. But for recorded too...

If you setup the midi track then make sure your input is not set to receive all channels. So you should make channels like thijs:
Midi keys 1 to virus 1
Midi keys 2 to virus 2
And so on
That should work

Yes, this works for recorded midi data perfectly.
But as my keyboard (Korg M3) has just one midi channel out - General Midi Out, if used as master keyboard - I cannot map as mentioned above. But let me check - going to my studio in a few hours.

I bought a 2nd hand Bitstream 3x controller, should come tomorrow, hope this will solve my problem playing 8 channels live.

That sounds pretty limited for a keyboard. Sure you cant select the midi channel on it?
Maybe this would work too: if you set the mpc to only allow recording on one channel and then select the active channel with your pads?

The M3 can of course have a free selection of the 16 channels - but to play live I can only send one at a time (not talking about the internal sequencer or the arpeggiator KARMA).
The Virus can have a stacked and very detailed multimode - e.g. slow start of strings in wide mode, additional a panning synth, brass or guitar with individual arp accents etc. - very flexible.
But the channels need to be devided "behind" the live keyboard - and that's what is all about.
EDIT: the Virus multimode can of course be played with one channel only - but to increase the options to the maximum multi channel is perfect
EDIT2: Muteing channels would be one of the ideas of maximizing. To mute a channel on the Virus means tapping through menues. And the MPCX, as mentioned above is not able to do so....
