Looper recording latency

because in the sampler you cannot do timed/'remote' recordings

in the looper you can 'specify' when/how much bars/beats you wanna record, albeit with a (very) small latency

How do you do that and set precise start/end points respective to the beat with sync turned off? And, unless I understood the post in question wrong, in what way is that beneficial if you are going to edit the start and end points manually anyway?

you gotta turn sync on

if you are editing start/end points afterwards, there's no use in using sync - but missing/cutting some audio

also, the process of capturing the right timed sample loop is more ergonomic when using the looper (when it is synced, it inherits the timing information in the sample loop)

Alright, so just to be clear for me and everyone else who is new and learning, the sampler appears to be the tool for the job for the workflow in question.
