my overall volume seems lower for some reason

so lately i've been focusing on dj'ing quite a bit and hadnt pulled out my mpc in a while. tonight i was messing around with it and the volume seemed low for some reason? i think i might just be trippin but... can someone confirm this -- previously whenever i used the bassline plugin i specifically remember it going into the reds on the preset patches. now it's peaking at about -9... is there some sort of global setting that i may have changed?

I tried the default preset of the Bassline. It was about -9dB, or -6bB in the FULL LEVEL.

Usually you want your bass to be at about -6db to -9db so that you have headroom to mix everything to about 0db.

Do you want your individual sounds to go up to 0db and mix above 0db?

oh no, nothing like that. i just remember when i had tried using bassline before it was hard to tame and loud AF, i had to turn it down quite a bit. i guess i'm trippin, lol. seems pretty fine now.
