I'm trying to contact their technical department or even any live person. I've never been able to get through to anyone. They are always "experience high call volume". Has anyone ever been able to get through?

I should mention, I'm calling their World Headquarters in

My MPC Touch powers on, displays the Akai logo, and acts as if it should work. However, no matter how many times I install/uninstall/install/uninstall the drivers (and all other software) it is never discovered by any of my computers, including Mac and PCs.

It used to work, but I disconnected it a few months ago, recently came back to use it again and now it's broken.

Any ideas?

More details:

* All pads/buttons light up as if it were in "Vegas" mode
* Touch screen comes on, shows Akai logo and then goes black (still on but waiting for signal)
* Plugging into PC message says "The recent USB device has malfunctioned"
* Windows 10
* Mac (all latest versions)

Try a different USB cable. But perhaps the Touch is actually malfunctioning?

Yeah, if it's malfunctioning I'd like to get a hold of Akai to see if they have some type of RMA or give me an idea on parts to replace. I think it might be the USB board, which is probably the motherboard unfortunately.

RMA? :WTF: MPC Touch has been a long discontinued product and is no longer supported. Even if you got a hold of someone from Akai, I doubt they'd be able to offer you any help. MPC Stuff sells a lot of replacement parts though, maybe check them out.

Yeah that's gonna be a tough one heh. On my team, you call with an old product, we'll do what we can, but for the most part if we cant troubleshoot it and fix it over the phone you're SOL. I had a dude yesterday that called in with a 2003 19" CRT that was shutting down right when it started up. All I could tell the guy was 'sorry, cant help, it needs a tech and we cant get those parts any more, its time to bury it and get an LCD finally'. Luckily the Touch isn't that old so by law they may still have parts available for it, but you'll be paying out of pocket for them since there's no more warranty.

Op what operating system are you trying to get the touch working? I doubt your touch is malfunctioning, but the touch is a pain in the ass if you don’t use it consistently. The drivers start becoming unreliable and always have to be reinstalled/installed.

Make sure you follow the reset pc instructions per install step. Second you have to get the updated display link drivers from the manufacturer. Depending on the windows update you are at you may be able to use the display link driver that comes with the installer.

I ran my touch on a old OLD AMD FX platform, if I didn’t use it for like a month , I had to go through install hell cycle just to get it back up. That stupid windows beep hoop beep usb device connect jingle got old fast.

If you got the bread, man go get a Live or One.

Thanks for the reply. Funny, I bought the MPC One and it's bomb but I feel like if the Touch was more reliable it could be the perfect MPC workflow + Computer/VST setup. After playing with the one in Controller mode, I find myself saying "damn, this touch.. wish it worked."

Probably the shittiest piece of equipment I've ever owned. I'd saying even worse the the Behringer BCR2000 in terms of computer stability.
