I’m lining up an isolated vocal track on my MPC. I have the sample in an audio track, and I’m nudging the starting point to get the vocal on-beat.
If I try to nudge the sample within the audio track (by selecting the sample with the arrow tool, selecting NUDGE, and using the data wheel to move the sample around), the sample moves in increments equivalent to the TC value (i.e. 1/32). However, if I try to toggle the DON’T SNAP button so I can nudge the sample in a more granular time range, the DON’T SNAP button won’t toggle on. It lights while my finger is on the screen, but when I release my finger it unlights again and remains inactive.
If I go into TC and disable GLOBAL TIMING CORRECT, then I can nudge the sample in very fine increments.
But, why doesn’t DON’T SNAP toggle like it does when nudging MIDI events in the grid editor? Is this a bug? Or am I doing something dumb? I can’t find a way to get the settings for an audio track into any configuration where the DON’T SNAP button will stay toggled on.
