Project "full force" is almost complete and I need you!

Oh hey, to those of you wondering about the plugin artwork, i had to remove something to make room so the plugin art was what got the axe. It was like 80mb of space saved on a 400 mb file system big gains by deleting it.

For those of you brave enough to install your synth content to the internal drive, here is all the synth content from the firmware, you can copy it into your synths folder and just super-impose the fs to restore the artwork.

For those of you wondering how to get hype working... you need to place your Synth folder in /media/acvs-content like so /media/acvs-content/Synth (on live and mpc x the path is /media/az01-internal-sd/Synth)

MPC One users have 1.8gb free by default and the synth contentent is 1.3 gb

df -th in ssh will tell you how much free space resides on your drives.

I wanted to see how far I could go with the standalone Mk1 hardware and it seems I've hit a hard brick wall, making it pretty unusable on it's own. There's really no way for it to get to the "Save window" to save tracks.

It seems in the past, the main menu had a save button at the bottom, but somewhere along the line of updates, those buttons were removed. Lacking a physical "track mute" button on the mk1, seems it's a dead end. The MPC One would still be good though.

Still a wonderful experience and I may come back to it when I get a proper launchpad device. Ultros

I just have a little problem : Bank selection with the MPC One.

With a drum program I push on Shift+16 level, I get the bank selection, but when I select "Bank A", my pad begin at Bank C. When I select "Bank B", my pad begin at "Bank D", etc...

I didn't change anything on the midicfg.ini

Is there a way to select the Bank A ?

the banks are the 4 quadrants of the screen. if you double click bank C it will move to that quadrant, this translates to when you are in note mode as well.

Yes there us a way to save your songs hold down "track mix" if your live has that button the save menu pops up. (look through the midi.cfg) the FORCE_BLAH items are your internal mpc interface buttons, you can remap those too if you know how to get the values with amidi or something. Assign it to whatever you want.

Also track mute and launch are accessed by holding "play start" and pressing a matrix pad. (that'll blow your mind)

pad 1-8 is launch 1-8 and pad 9-16 is the select row. you can change the select row functions by holding play start and pressing the bank buttons. this will switch beteen mute, solo, clip stop and record arm.

I know it's weird but that's how Akai implemented stuff with a offset of 2 Banks. You can copy the samples of your current kids that are on bank A to bank C in the grid editor.

In my previous midi.cfg file for the Launchpad Pro Mk3 I forgot to configure the bottom row (Rec Arm, Mute, Solo, etc).

So here is a new file with those buttons implemented as well:

Probably I miss something, but I can't figure out how to delete or change a track program with the MPC One. Anyone know ?

You cant delete tracks as far as I know. Goofy Akai stuff.

You're wrong, it is possible, the Akai Force manual explain it, and some guy on the mpc-forum about the Akai Force describe also how to do it. But since the MPC One firmware for the FORCE haven't the same buttons, I didn't find the button to access to it. What I mean is as example :
Track 1 : Plugin Program
Track 2 : Drum Program
Track 3 : Keygroup Program

I want to delete the Drum Program, so I expect to have :

Track 1 : Plugin Program
Track 2 : Void
Track 3 : Keygroup Program

With the touch screen I went everywhere (I think) and don't find it, but it should have a way.

Thanks for the Best MPC Firmware I'm trying to run it on Live 2 and it not passing Hakai logo screen.
I tried with sd card or usb stick named FORCE. it is coping midi.cfg and MPC.settings Files but not passing Hakai logo!
After a forced shut down (by holding power button for 10 seconds) if I pull out memstick and power it on, it Shows the Hakai logo then MPC Message (Currently not spoofed into any mode.........) then regular mpc software is loaded and it works fine. Any ideas?
BTW I had to disconnect the ssd drive otherwise is not copying any files to the memstick.

Just tried this on my MPC Live 1, tried a USB thumb drive and then an SD card named FORCE (all caps)... the custom firmware boots (nice splash screen btw) and then I get a pop up message saying that it isn't spoofed... Not sure if this is relevant, but I have an SSD installed that has a different name and even tried changing that name to FORCE. No dice...

I'm happy to troubleshoot though, and I think it's awesome that you've done this and are willing to share the results of your work, so thank you for your time and efforts... I'd love to get this working...

Quick update, after renaming my SSD to FORCE and removing the USB thumbdrive it all booted as expected... I'm looking at the clip matrix on my MPC Live 1 as I type... time to play and play and play... Awesome work... leaving this here in case it helps some else...

Alrighty, clearly there seems to be a bit of a bug in my start up script! I am looking into it. I will likely have to release some kinda update in the next little while to correct the problem. really sorry about the hassle folks.

Thanks, I did manage to get that working, remapping 16 level as the Save button instead. I've got a midiplus smartpad on the way. Maybe it's junk, but the fact that it has 8 encoders up top seemed a better option than the APC mini. We'll see...
