Live factory reset, general tutorials, workflow

Ive had my MPC live for a couple months and I want to like it, but am just not finding it intuitive. I've watched a few hours of youtube tutorials but they're just not doing much for me. How did yall learn how to work this thing?

Id also REALLY appreciate it if someone were to DM me the stock MPC Live 1 factory content/installer. I'd very much like to know Im starting fresh and not have the previous owners stuff all over the place. I tried contacting Akai directly a few months ago but never heard anything back. It find it unusual that a reset isnt available from within the MPCs own memory or via WIFI.

Are you just not a visual learner? If watching videos doesn't help you, then your only recourse is to read tutorials, and by far MPC Tutor's "MPC Bible" is the most comprehensive and easiest to understand. Personally, I watched a ton of videos before I even purchased my first "new gen" MPC, so I was already comfortable for the most part before even turning my first one on. If watching a few hours of YouTube tutorials didn't get you on the right path, then reading may be your wheelhouse.

This is an old-fashioned way, but try getting through the manual. That always helps me a lot. And when I have fun and get stuck, I get stuck. I‘ll continue through the PDF after that. But you‘ll at least have seen almost any feature once and you‘ll have an inkling where to look if you get stuck by accident.

You‘ll also find many shortcuts non-manual people don‘t always know (e.g. hold MENU button and press corresponding pad). RTFM sounds dull, but helps.

You kinda need both the manual AND the MPC Bible. The manual is just that, reference material. It shows you what the thing can do, but doesn't really tell you how to use anything, just what is in there and where it is. The MPC Bible, will actually walk you through a whole bunch of shit and show you how to use everything you just read about in the manual. It comes with actual content you can actually DO all the tutorials and exercises along with it. Its great, dont buy any expansions or add-ons from Akai, buy the MPC Bible first!

After that, the rest all comes with experience. It does help if you've worked with other MIDI gear before, the MPC is just a sequencer like all the rest. Does the same shit, but you have to learn to do it the way the MPC does it and its just like working with anything else really.
